They say April showers bring May flowers. We should have a garden of blooming glory soon. I can’t wait to admire and smell them all. My grandchildren love to stop and smell every flower they see, they are surprised sometimes when one does not smell. How can something that beautiful not have a fragrance to enjoy?
Our McKenzie Chamber Annual Board Meeting on April 10th at 1:00 at the Vida Windermere Office went off incredibly well, despite the four inches of snow that fell the night before. Shoveling snow in April in Vida? We had a great turnout weather or not. Nineteen business folks, community members and four kids, varying in ages enjoyed a nice luncheon provided by the Chamber and furnished by the local venues. The Taste of the McKenzie was the theme. Craigs Lucky Logger served Lasagna by their new chef. Vinnies Barbeque whipped up their famous Blue Cheese Potato Salad. Ike’s Lakeside pizza provided three varieties of pizza. McKenzie Station and Espresso sent marinated tri tip and rolls to make French Dips. Takada’s delivered a variety of chicken wings. Obsidian Grill sent their specialty chicken wings as well. To give a sweet ending to a perfect luncheon the Vida Café made several types of yummy pies.
Three gift cards were raffled off: the Blue-Sky Market, Leaburg Store and Everyone’s Market.
All participants were asked to introduce themselves. Business members were asked to talk a little bit about their business and how they are doing. Lots of new faces and new businesses are happening in the McKenzie Valley. Check out our website to view all the new venues and the existing ones available to serve you year-round.
With our revised website it is easier than ever to renew your membership online and you will automatically be notified when you need to make your next renewal payment to insure you stay active as a member.
